Toll roads in Romania
In Romania, toll costs are charged on motorways (autostrăzi), expressways (drumuri Expres) and national roads (drumuri Naționale). These are marked as A, DX, and DN. A valid e-vignette is mandatory for travel on these roads.
The roads that are part of the European network, marked with an E, also pass through Romania. These E-roads coincide with the motorways (A) and national roads (DN).
A valid vignette is required for the following sections:
- The motorways including European roads: A1 (E81, E68, E79, E671, E68), A2 (E81, E87), A3 (E60), A4 (E87), A10 (E81), A11 (E671), A0 (E81).
- The national roads including E-roads: DN1 (E60), DN2 (E85), DN6 (E70), DN7 (E68).
- The expressway including E-road: DX12 (E574).
In addition to the e-vignette, the following bridges require a separate toll fee:
- Fetești-Cernavodă Bridge (A2 Motorway)
- Giurgeni-Vadu Oii Bridge (DN2A)
- Calafat-Vidin Bridge (Romania-Bulgaria border)
- Giurgiu-Ruse Bridge (Romania-Bulgaria border)
01. Exceptions
A vignette is not required on national roads that pass through cities, towns, and villages between the entry and exit signs of the locality.
